![]() Ultimately, all builds have their merits, and it is up to players to find what suits them best while still providing an enjoyable experience. In order to assist newcomers to Torchlight 2, this tier list now provides two powerful build options for each class, ensuring players start off on the right track. While the Engineer is often regarded as the top class, even the weakest Engineer build pales in comparison to the most effective Berserker build. ![]() Updated by Erik Petrovich on October 28, 2023: When it comes to the four classes in Torchlight 2, it's challenging to determine the best class due to the diverse range of builds available. While every class has its pros and cons, there is one class that is widely recognized as the most powerful, while another presents a more challenging experience for players. Each class offers a unique playstyle and specific advantages for dominating in combat. Torchlight 2 features four distinct classes: Outlander, Embermage, Berserker, and Engineer. In this fantasy realm, players are tasked with tracking down a former hero known as the Alchemist, who has become obsessed with a mysterious substance called Ember. They make sense with his gameplay style, but when compared to the other heroes, he is sitting pretty much in the middle of the pack and relies on your equipment and talents for customization.Torchlight 2 is an outstanding Diablo-style game that aims for simplicity and direct combat, while also incorporating some lighthearted elements. Though objectively speaking, Rehan is a viable candidate for doing big numbers with your build, his default kit is kind of bland when it comes to abilities and passive. He may not be as fast as Carino, but he is still very capable of bouncing all around the field as an unstoppable force heading toward an immovable object. Don’t let his big stature fool you into thinking he’s slow and lacking speed, because he is surely going to blow that expectation out of the water as well. Each of his skills is designed to amplify his strength and build his rage meter that much faster whether he’s attacking or defending. He is a heavy hitter that uses giant swords, axes, and hammers to slam into the earth and create giant cracks in the earth doing AOE damage. No matter which of the two classes he is, Rehan is the embodiment of seething rage. While he can mix up his playstyle a little bit by being able to create different elemental-based builds, it still amounts to more or less the same combat. In the end, though, his gameplay is much of the same: shoot enemies until they get too close, then dodge and get out of the way. It’s good for when your back is against the wall, and you need to dodge out of the way without sacrificing too much of your damage output. Take Evil Ouroboros, the skill lets any normal ammunition boomerang back in the direction it came and damages any enemies that are in the way. His paid class, Lethal Flash, comes with a few other abilities the free default class does not. His attacks are based on how much ammo he has currently, as well as special ammo that grants each Special Bullet with a damage boost among the other support skills you can equip. It’s fun in short bursts but if you’re trying to go for the long run, it can get repetitive.Ĭarino is as straightforward as a sharpshooter can be. Once you’ve got your robots all powered up, they do all the work, leaving you to just buff them or wait for the next wave of enemies, so you can start the rotation all over again. Despite the power Moto has, the reason he’s placed so far below is in how he plays. ![]() Each of your robots in Charge Calling mode will gain the ability to self-destruct and depending on what you've leveled, the damage will be devastating. ![]() Order Calling is about supporting and buffing your mighty mini army, while Charge Calling is about pure destruction. While they have some moves in their sets in common, there are some differences to note. Moto has two different classes: Order Calling and Charge Calling. Instead of the robots being the tank while you are doing all the damage, the robots are the ones doing all the heavy lifting while you provide support and buffs to their attacks with the overload ability. Moto alone represents the summoner class in the game, though his summons are tech based, not magic.
