I've also seen the light on OEM when it comes to rubber parts after reading 2005 Peachparts forum notes from Roncallo and Nobby. the time it can be done and that going to a non-MB specialist might yield a better price. I've searched the web and found threads suggesting that the mount jobs are usually overquoted in terms of the hours they charge vs. Should transmission bushing be replaced as well? the motor is already lifted and there is access to "X". Is there anything else that should be replaced at the same time that makes sense from a combined labor aspect (i.e. $125 each for motor mounts parts, $75 for tranny mount part and I think $150 or $250 for sub frame mount pair. ![]() The total quote with OEM parts (which she discounted a bit since she knew I might shop my own parts) comes out to $1150 for all parts and labor for all mentioned mounts. Is it a forgone conclusion that the sub frame mounts need replacing if they are original and have 114,000 miles on them? The lady on the phone knows her way around these cars and said that it won't ride nicely enough if we just do the motor mounts. I called my Indy shop for a quote and they immediately reccomended doing the sub frame mounts as well. I was recently informed that the motor mounts and trans mounts need replacement and the motor mounts are unquestionably bad and fail the test for engine lift.
